In fact, a healthy yoni will emit different smells throughout the month; sometimes stronger sometimes milder during different parts of your menstrual cycle (and this is also true for goddesses who experience irregular periods of do not see their periods due to PCOS etc, there is still a hormonal fluctuation taking place every month that will create a whole host of smells). Whilst scent is a sign that your yoni is healthy and “purring like a kitten” with its pH balanced, a change in smell can be an indication that you may have to spend some energy correcting that balance. But the best way to stay on top of this is to have a fairly thorough understanding of what your yoni smells like normally, not everyone may want to do this, but it’s a good idea to have an understanding of what your baseline scent is and then you’ll be able to tell if something has gone wrong.
What should you be on the lookout for?
A Fishy Scent:

A Musky Scent:

A Yeasty/Bready Scent:
This is often caused by yeast infections (although they can also be odourless). Smell will never be your only symptom with a yeast infection, but it can help you distinguish it from bacterial vaginosis or other infections that will similarly irritate your vagina.

A Metallic Scent:
A slight metallic scent coming off your yoni is most common right after you've had your period or had some intimate contact with semen. Both can change the pH of your usually-acidic yoni into something more basic (and thus, differently scented). In both cases, the metallic scent should be temporary.
A Sweet Scent:
Interestingly, your diet can affect the taste and scent of your yoni! Eating more citrus fruits like: oranges, pineapple, and grapefruit have been known to sweeten the smell and taste of vaginal fluids and vegetables like onions, garlic and asparagus can make it more bitter.
